A distribuidora de jogos Take-Two divulgou os números relativos às vendas de seus jogos no último quadrimestre. De acordo com o relatório, 93% do montante das vendas representam os consoles Xbox 360 e PlayStation 3, obtendo um aumento considerável se comparado aos 44% divulgados no mesmo período do ano passado.
O estudo indica que Xbox 360 continua sendo o console que mais lucrativo para a empresa, liderando as vendas com 49%, sendo que o Playstation 3 obteve o percentual de 44. Em relação ao mesmo período em 2009, o Xbox 360 foi responsável por 32%, enquanto o console da Sony vendeu apenas 12% do total.
Quem caiu muito em relação ao ano passado foi o nintendo Wii. Se no mesmo período de 2009 o console da Nintendo havia abocanhado a fatia de 16% do total, neste ano ficou com apenas 1%, abaixo até que os portáteis PSP e DS, com 4%. O PC também obteve uma queda nas vendas, caindo de 14 para 4% nesse ano.
A grande oscilação de vendas entre os sistemas é facilmente explicada pela falta de títulos da distribuidora para o Wii. O Xbox 360 e PlayStation 3, entretanto, tiveram lançamentos de peso como "Red Dead Redemption", além da queda de preços de grandes jogos, como "Grand Theft Auto IV" e "Borderlands".
O executivo da Take-Two, Ben Feder, analisa que "Mafia II" tem tudo para seguir o mesmo sucesso de "Red Dead Redemption".
